The Death & Burial of Benazir Bhutto....Where does this leave Pakistan and the World?
Related to country: Pakistan

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

With the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and her subsequent burial, hopes of peace and stability in the middle east were again put on hold.

This is a sad situation which has implications not just for Pakistan but for all societies around the globe. It represents a severe road block on the path to peace a democracy in Pakistan and other societies around the world. Furthremore, this has great implications for the timeline and outcome of the "war on terror."

This demonstrates to mean, and I would think others, that much more needs to be done if we are ever going to be successful spreading the values of freedom and democracy. We MUST remain determined, focused and resolute in our approach to terrorist groups while at the same time realizing that our North American "values" are hardly universal and transplantable at whim. Solutions are found through compromise and mutual respect, not hostility and a zero tolerance approach.

In Peace,
Kyle

Just thought I'd update you on an excellent meeting that I had this evening with Nikki, our Ottawa Youth Engagement Coordinator. Stay tuned for some great stuff for the Ottawa crowed starting in the New Year!!

We, and I should say mostly Nikki, are planning some great events that will cohesively tie the TakingITGlobal.org portal with our local "on the ground" youth engagement. It's a two for one deal!! Can anyone say, "oh ya!"

Stay tuned! Have a great holiday and we will rock you in the New Year!!
